Goodyear Welted Barefoot Safety Boots

Armour your feet

GOODYEAR WELT STEEL TOE BOOTS EXPLAINED:

The Goodyear construction is characterised by a horizontal seam that joins the upper, the insole and a welt. This welt is then joined by a second vertical seam, which joins the entire shoe to the outsole. This achieves the total integrity of the shoe and, in addition, it’s easy to repair.
A characteristic feature of Goodyear footwear until now has been its lack of flexibility. By working closely with the factory and meticulously intervening in every process, we were able to create the first Goodyear shoe suitable for the Barefoot user.
Completely flexible. A shoe that with every step you take, becomes more yours. With every step, your footprint will be moulded into the shoe.

Natural Vegetable Tanned Leather

OUR VEG TAN LEATHER

The leather we are using is a natural vegetable tanned leather emblematic of the Spanish heartland.
A richly coloured 'washed' calf leather with a rustic character and aroma. Handmade by the tannery nicknamed 'The Widow's'. When the Pérez brothers, just teenagers, lost their father, the tannery manager, their widowed mother decided to carry on the legacy of 3 generations of tanners.
The four brothers and sons, 40 years later, continue the legacy today making this exquisite leather.

THE SOLE OF THE SHOE

The sole, the soul of the shoe. We developed a sole that would provide the right feel. Something that can convey the Barefoot connection without losing the requirements of safety and comfort. Germany had the answer. Soles that not only allow the Barefoot feeling whilst being stylish, but also meet the highest European protection levels: anti-slip, fuel and oil proof, and anti-static.

JOBS THAT REQUIRE steel toe safety boots

When to armour your feet

Steel toe shoes, and specially black work boots, are essential in many industries to protect workers from potential hazards such as falling objects, sharp items, and slippery surfaces. Here is a list of jobs that typically require safety footwear:

Construction Workers - To protect from heavy machinery and falling debris.

Electricians - Insulated boots can protect against electrical hazards.

Warehouse Workers - For protection against heavy moving equipment and falling objects.

Factory Workers - To prevent injury from heavy machinery and sharp tools.

Landscapers and Gardeners - To protect against sharp tools and uneven surfaces.

Manufacturing Jobs - In environments with heavy equipment and hazardous materials.

Plumbers - To protect against sharp tools and slips in wet environments.

Roofers - To provide traction and protect against punctures.

Miners - For protection from sharp rocks, falling debris, and heavy machinery.

Firefighters - Specialized boots protect against extreme heat and sharp objects.

Chemical Plant Workers - Protection from corrosive substances and spills.

Loggers - To prevent injury from chainsaws and falling trees.

Agricultural Workers - Protection from heavy machinery and uneven terrain.

Road Workers - Protect against heavy equipment and rough surfaces.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) - For protection in diverse and potentially hazardous environments.

Maintenance Workers - To protect from electrical hazards and mechanical risks.

Oil Rig Workers - Boots that resist oil and provide safety against slips and falls.

Automotive Technicians - Protection from falling tools and hazardous materials.

In each of these roles, the right kind of safety footwear can significantly reduce the risk of injury. Always ensure that the safety footwear used complies with industry-specific safety standards and regulations. Some roles require a groove for ladder climbing so our boots would not be suitable for such jobs.

The unicorn of barefoot shoes

I am a welder, signmaker, and neon glass bender and am on my feet all day. I switched to barefoot shoes a year ago and quickly outgrew all my shoes. I’ve been cramming my feet in to old steel toes for the last year and have been sufferings for it. I finally got fed up and started looking for a solution. Gaucho ninja! The price point was hard for me being from Canada but the recent sale allowed me to grab a pair. So much space for my toes and what amazing quality, Hard to find a shoe that accommodates different foot shapes, but this shoe has more space than the average barefoot shoe! For people worried about sizing; my true size is a 9 or 42 but I ordered a 9.5 or 43 to be safe. I probably could have ordered the 9 or 42. These shoes fit true to size 🙌

Safety with style and comfort

Until I wore Gaucho Ninja Goodyear-Welted Barefoot Carpenter’s Boots, I had no idea safety boots could be comfortable, and stylish.

Ordering was very easy on the website and I was kept fully informed until the boots arrived. In my case that was just 2 days.

I adopted barefoot boots from 2020 and struggled to find safety boots for my work walking factory floors, and my pleasure as a hand tool wood worker.

The Gaucho Ninja Carpenter’s boots have been a revelation. Comfortable right from the box, enabling me to be on my feet for 8-10 hours a day in comfort and style.

Cooking and Barefoot

Hi. I've been cooking professionally for 14 years and counting so I'm on concrete floors all day. Keen PTC were my mainstay for about 9 years. I'm wearing these welted carpenter boots now because I was having knee trouble and weird issues with my feet. I loved wearing zero drop sandals, so I decided to give these a try. I was also looking for a safety shoe for some HVAC work I was doing.

Break in time took about 3 days. It was uncomfortable at the heel and the ball of my feet, but by loosening the laces and skipping one of the speed laces, it was bearable. I highly recommend moleskin at the ankle bone and heel as well as thick socks if you are transitioning straight to barefoot boots like these. The toe box is just enough for my toes to splay (thank you!) and the boots fit true to size.

Now that they are broken in, I enjoy them most of the time. They are stimulating to my feet and help with circulation and posture. You have to get accustomed to taking a shorter stride so you keep posture and don't let your shoulders slump or hips rotate backward. I also can't run in these. It's a little tricky figuring out how to lace these so my heels don't rub. The leather is easy to clean. I really like the speed laces.

The slip-resistant outsole is sufficient for most of the wet / oily floor I encounter. It would be better if the front bottom edge of the outsole was trimmed a bit so it doesn't catch on small bumps. I've caught myself on tile floor several times....again, habits must adjust. My Keens were turned up with an Oxford toe at the front and back so this was never a problem before. I think the next revision of this boot would be better if there was some stiffer protection behind the heel. The black leather is sleek and dressy, but it doesn't protect my heels from bumping into things like doors, carts and the dreaded locking casters!

Cool boots. A unicorn in the work boot world. Maybe I'll review again six months from now after I see how they hold up.

Amazing boot

Better than I expected, have totally broken in after a week. Love the boots but have already had to replace the shoe laces due to them breaking. Small price to pay. The wait was worth it and I love them.

Best work boots ever! I've been waiting for years for something like this to come out! Minimal flexible yet sturdy outsole, leather feels high quality, even the laces tighten smoothly! Ankle height is perfect so they don't feel over-built for a mechanic's job. The extra-wide fit is amazing so it gives you plenty of toe splay and there are no pressure points even with the steel toe. That's another thing, the outsole is just stiff enough so it does not flop around by having a steel toe.
Sizing is true to size, I wear a 46 EU most of the time and these boots fit perfect. Also for fit, the heel is snug but not tight so you don't feel like you're sloshing around when walking.
One very minor thing is the upper lace hooks seem like they might bend easily; however if one should break it should be easily repaired by a local cobbler.
I can't recommend these boots enough, my feet have never been happier!
